Point of Care
This service is coordinated through the Pathology Department and is a multidisciplinary service. Contact UHWNPT@hse.ie or 8372 for training and access and any other queries.
Currently the POCT (Point of Care testing) or also known as Near Patient Testing (NPT) programme in use across UHW includes the following:
- Blood Gas Analysis
- Blood Glucose and Ketones
- Urinalysis – Dipstick (Glu,Bil,Ket,SG,Bld,pH,Pro,UBG,Nit,Leu)
- Urinalysis - Hcg Pregnancy Testing
- PCR testing for Covid 19, Flu A and Flu B
- Urinary Toxicology (Amp,mAmp,Bar,Bzo,Coc,EDDP,Opi,TCA,THC)
- Haemoglobin
- Coagulation
- HbA1c
