To ask the Minister for Health if the provision of an osteoporosis medication ( This question is on behalf of one of my constituents. There is a drug called Evenita the chemical name is Romosozumaab. This drug has been commonly used for people suffering from Osteoporosis. It is widely available through all of Europe and the North of Ireland but unforntaluntlay for people suffering from this disease it is not available in the Republic of Ireland. The reason that is widely perceived as the cause of this is that the HSE or the manufactures do not know how much to charge for it here in the Republic of Ireland. This seems nonsensical and in the interest of those suffering from this disease and who would benefit from it being readily availbae here to them for prescription. Surely the minister can encourage the providers to deal with this situation as a matter of urgency and make a statement on the matter.) for the Irish market will be examined and expedited; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Many children who are attending the centre receive recommendations for technologies from the centre’s therapist. However many do not have a speech and language therapist or an occupational therapists as part of their public team and so cannot request that the application for funding be submitted).
