LAIV School

In senior infants of primary school and primary special schools, students will be offered a flu vaccine (LAIV) from October until December 2023.

This vaccine is given by a vaccinator to students in school.

If a student misses that immunisation in school, parents can take their child to a participating GP or pharmacy to get vaccinated for free.

In Ireland, all the recommended childhood vaccines given in the schools immunisation programme are free.

The following information materials are available for parents & guardians of children

To understand why flu vaccine is important for your child visit the HSE website.

If you have any other questions please contact the LAIV immunisation programme office in your area.
