To ask the Minister for Health if he will provide much-needed urgent funding to the long-Covid clinic at the Mater Hospital (We have been informed by a Doctor working in the Mater LC clinic: - The HSE, without any engagement, appointed mater a 'post acute care' covid clinic run by resp specialists, but did not provide funding to the Mater LC clinic, which has been up and running since May 2020, and appears to have done most of the research and clinical work with patients, more than most other clinics. - The science, since June 2021, showed we do not need these post acute clinics, so this is a royal waste of 2 million euros for staff who will not be helping LC patients. Last Friday, the LC clinic saw 27 patients, and when a doctor stopped by the mater pulmonary post acute clinic, and there was only one in the waiting room.); and if not, the reason for same.
