2025 HSE SPONSORSHIP STUDENT MENTAL HEALTH RECRUITMENT SCHEME (Post Graduate) Higher Diploma in Mental Health Nursing

 

The HSE has ongoing opportunities for Mental Health Nurses.  In order to meet this requirement it is the intention of the National Recruitment Service (NRS) to advertise the Higher Diploma in Mental Health Nursing Programme at 12 noon on Thursday 16th January 2025.  Applications will close at 12 noon on Thursday 30th January 2025.

A panel will be formed as a result of this recruitment campaign, from which sponsorship places on the 2025/2026 Higher Diploma in Mental Health Nursing Programme will be filled.

Successful candidates appointed from the panel, will undertake the Higher Diploma in Mental Health Nursing Programme at University College Dublin (UCD). The course commencement date will be 26th May 2025

Candidates must at the latest date of application:

  1. Be registered on the Register of Nurses maintained by Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or entitled to be so registered

And

  1. Have a minimum of 6 months post registration clinical nursing experience within the past 3 years, or it’s equivalent within the past 3 years if working less hours

 

 If Applicable, meet the entry requirements set by UCD:

OR

  • Provide evidence of having obtained an academic qualification, such as a diploma, degree or MSc, from an Irish university or wholly through the English language from a majority-English speaking country

OR

  • Occupational English Test (OET) results are also accepted. These should be a minimum score of 350 on the OET.
