The Annual TASK Sale of Works and Family Fun Day, Kilkenny

An annual Sale of Works (beginning Wednesday 9 October) and a Family Fun Day (on Sunday 10 October) are features of TASK’s marking of National Mental Health Week at its base in the Old Auxiliary Hospital in Kilkenny.

TASK (Training and Support Kilkenny) is a rehabilitative training programme for adults, part of the HSE’s mental health services.

TASK helps people to improve and maintain mental wellbeing, develop coping strategies and self-care skills and primarily regain confidence. Based in the Old Auxiliary Hospital complex in Kilkenny, TASK has a studio space in the main building, a workshop for upcycling furniture and a garden and horticultural project.

The annual Sale of Works opens in a Marquee on the grounds of the Auxiliary Hospital at 10am on Wednesday 9 of October, with the sale of upcycled furniture, arts and crafts continuing until 3pm – and again from 10am-3pm on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 of October.

There will be an art exhibition opening at 3pm in the Marquee on Wednesday 9 of October.

There will be access to the TASK garden at the Auxiliary on each day of the Sale of Works (and will feature in the Family Fun Day on Sunday)

The TASK Family Fun Day will be taking place on Sunday 13 October from 2-5 pm at the Auxiliary Hospital (Wolfe Tone Street, Kilkenny, R95 WC8W).

The Family Fun Day will feature

  • Face Painting
  • Apple Pressing (bring your own apples and containers!)
