Start your “Quit” journey on National No Smoking Day (Ash Wednesday)

“Ash Wednesday” has come around again and it also happens to be “National No Smoking Day” on Wednesday 5th of March, 2025.

To mark the occasion, the HSE is encouraging tobacco users to quit smoking and to get help and support from a trained professional to do so.

There are FREE Nicotine Replacement Therapies (e.g. patches, gum) available as supports to anyone who joins the HSE’s “Quit” programme.

The HSE Stop Smoking Service across counties Carlow, Kilkenny, South Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford is there to provide support with free one-to-one support and advice.

To find out more about the service or to make an appointment to see one of the HSE’s Stop Smoking Advisors or to sign up for FREE stop smoking support (including NRT) in counties Carlow Kilkenny, South Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford, e-mail SouthEastStopSmokingSupport@hse.ie or phone (1800) 201 203.
