Dun Siog is a residential centre managed by the Health Service Executive (HSE) which provides 24-hour care to meet the needs of up to three residents with disabilities. This centre is staffed by a person in charge, nurses and care attendants. Each resident has their own bedroom within the centre. There is also a large kitchen-dining room with a seating area, utility room, sitting room and two bathrooms. Residents are supported to manage their medical needs, social goals and maintain links with their community in line with their will and preference.

The inspection took place on March 4th 2024 and the report was published on the HIQA website on June 19th 2024.

On the day of inspection the HIQA inspector noted that the Dun Siog house was warm, clean, tidy and homely. Residents’ bedrooms were decorated in line with their tastes. They were personalized with their own pictures, photographs and belongings. There was adequate storage for residents to store their clothing and personal possessions. The centre was noted by the inspector to be in very good repair.

The HIQA inspector met with all three residents on the afternoon of the inspection. Residents had spent the morning engaged in different activities in line with their preferences.
