Bluebell Hill is a residential service managed by the HSE providing accommodation for four residents with a disability. This designated centre is a large single storey dwelling, situated in County Sligo. The centre comprises of a kitchen/dining area, two living rooms which are available for entertainment, relaxation and socialising. All residents have their own bedroom with access to two main bathrooms and a toilet. There is a large patio area and garden to the front of the house. This centre is staffed on a twenty four hour basis with a skill mix of nursing and care attendant staff and is governed by a Person in Charge.
The Health Information & Quality Authority (HIQA) undertook an announced inspection of Bluebell Hill designated centre on the 31st January 2024 to inform a registration renewal application and the report was published on the HIQA website on May 15th 2024.
The HIQA inspector found that it was evident from observation in the centre, conversations with staff and information viewed during the inspection, that residents at Bluebell Hill have a good quality of life, have choices in their daily lives, and are supported both in the centre and in the local community. In the inspection report, the inspector notes that throughout the inspection it was clear that the Person in Change and staff team prioritised wellbeing and quality of life for all residents.
Overall, the inspector found that the oversight of the day-to-day care practices was of a good standard and provided residents with a good quality of care and service in this centre.
The inspection assessed the service in respect of sixteen regulations and the report showed that all sixteen regulations were fully compliant.
HSE Disability Services in Community Healthcare Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Monaghan, Sligo will continue to work to ensure that robust governance, quality and safety arrangements are in place within the Bluebell Hill centre to ensure high quality services are provided to all residents.
