Re: HIQA Inspection - Corlurgan Community Home- OSV-0002446

Corlurgan Community Home is a Health Service Executive (HSE) run designated centre providing 24 hour residential care and support to four adults with disabilities. This centre is located in a rural setting, approximately three kilometers from Cavan town centre.

This centre is a bungalow style house comprised of an entrance hall, a sitting room, kitchen/dining room. Each resident has their own individual bedroom at the centre. The centre also comprises a one bedroom apartment with en-suite bathroom to the rear. The centre has a large back garden with decking and raised flower beds. Transport is provided for residents of Corlurgan designated centre to access the nearby local towns and villages and to avail of community based amenities and activities.

Corlurgan Community Home was inspected by the Health Information & Quality Authority (HIQA) on April2nd  2024 and the report was published on the HIQA website on June 19th 2024.

The HIQA inspector found that the centre has a high level of compliance with standards as all seventeen of the regulations inspected were found to be compliant.

The HIQA inspector noted in the report that staff of Corlurgan Community Home  had undertaken training in human rights. One staff member the inspector spoke with said that they put this training into everyday practice so as to ensure the residents got to live lives of their choosing and participate in activities that they enjoyed.

The HSE Disability Services in Community Healthcare Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Monaghan, Sligo will continue to work to ensure that a high standard of service is maintained at Corlurgan Community Home.
