Donagh House (with Ros na Ri as a unit under this Designated Centre) offers full time residential care and support to eleven adults with disabilities. The service is delivered by the HSE. The centre comprises of two detached bungalows in County Monaghan on the outskirts of a town. All residents of Donagh House and Ros na Ri have their own bedrooms which are decorated to their individual style and preference. Each house contains a living area, kitchen/dining area and spacious outside garden space with adequate room for parking. The centre is staffed on a 24/7 basis and has a full time person in charge who is a Clinical Nurse Manager II.
Donagh House (with Ros na Ri as a unit under this Designated Centre) was inspected by the Health Information & Quality Authority (HIQA) on April 17th 2024 and the report was published on the HIQA website on July 9th 2024.
On the day of inspection the HIQA inspector noted that the residents of Donagh House and Ros na Ri appeared happy and content in their homes. Staff were observed to be kind and person centred in their interactions with residents.
On the day of inspection eighteen regulations were inspected against the standards. Sixteen regulations received a fully compliant judgement and two were deemed substantially compliant.
The HSE has taken the following actions to ensure regulatory compliance in full as follows:
- Residents’ medical records have been reviewed and a system has been implemented to ensure all information is easily retrievable.
- Fire arrangements have been reviewed and amended in one house to ensure all residents can safely evacuate the house within a safe timeframe.
HSE Disability Services in Community Healthcare Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Monaghan, Sligo will continue to work to ensure that robust governance, quality and safety arrangements are in place within Donagh House and Ros na Ri to ensure high quality services are experienced by all residents.
