New Women’s Health Café Opens in Ballyphehane

The HSE/ Cork Kerry Community Healthcare’s new community-led initiative on women’s health and menopause will open today, Tuesday 14, in Ballyphehane Community Centre.

‘The Change Café’, runs the second Tuesday of every month from 7pm- 9pm, and will feature talks and workshops given by experts in the area of Women’s Health and Menopause. The Change Café is open to all and is free to attend, with refreshments provided and the opportunity to ask questions and to share your experiences.

‘The Change Café’ is a collaboration between the Cork South Community Work Department HSE, Ballyphehane Togher Community Development Project CLG, the Ballyphehane/ Togher Adult Education Provision CETB and Cork City Partnership CLG.  

Eleanor Moore, Principal Community Worker, Cork Kerry Community Healthcare, is encouraging all who are interested in learning more about Menopause or Women’s Health to join in for the free workshops, adding: “The Change Café will give people reliable and relevant information, it is an inclusive space to ask questions and engage in an open and honest conversation. Every month, we will focus on talks and workshops by people with specialist knowledge in the area of women’s health and menopause. This is an excellent example of community peer support for women to support each in a facilitated and inclusive space.”
