It was a bringing together of the young and young at heart at Nazareth House, Sligo on Wednesday December 18, when Santa came to visit.
The event was organised by HSE Nazareth House Staff Health & Wellbeing Committee and Nazareth House Nursing home.
Santa came to visit a number of service users of HSE services delivered at Nazareth House including CAMHS, (Children & Adolescent Mental Health Services) CDNT (Children’s Disability Network Team) and Primary Care services as well as residents of Nazareth House Nursing Home, which is a privately run nursing home.
A choir and musicians also provided festive favourites in anticipation of Santa’s arrival.
It may have been hail stoning but the mood was definitely jolly and bright as Santa arrived with his own Garda escort.
After the children and some of the residents of Nazareth House Nursing Home had met the man in red, everyone moved inside for more music and some treats to warm them up.
Nazareth House Nursing Home resident Pearse McCosker said he was a fan of music and would be joining in with the singing.
Another resident Mags Gaughan said she was very much looking forward to Christmas, which would mean social outings and visits from her family.
Sinead Feeney, Facilities Manager at HSE Nazareth House said “It was a wonderful occasion, all about the bringing together of HSE Nazareth House Services and Nazareth House Nursing Home. I’d like to thank the musicians and singers who brought such fun to the event and of course Santa for taking time out of his busy schedule to see us.”
