The National Cancer Strategy 2017-2026 recommendation 13 states that all patients diagnosed with cancer will have their case formally discussed at a tumour conference (multidisciplinary team meeting).
To progress the implementation of this key recommendation the NCCP have developed the below guidance document to inform the development of local standard operating procedures (SOP) for multidisciplinary team meetings within the Cancer Centres.
NCCP Tumour conference - Standard Operating Procedure Guidance
In line with the above guidance the NCCP Tumour Leads Group have developed the following tumour specific guidance documents..
In cases where there is no NCCP Tumour specific guidance document hospitals should utilise the NCCP Tumour conference - Standard Operating Procedure Guidance.
The NCCP will continue to work with the National Clinical Leads and the Cancer Centres to progress and review the guidance documents to support implementation of this Cancer Strategy recommendation.
