To develop a forum for community-based cancer support organisations which includes:
- information sharing
- education
- collaborative working
- networking opportunities
To support connections between:
- cancer centres,
- treatment hospitals,
- community cancer support services
- primary care.
Mission of The Alliance
- Provide information, support, and growth opportunities to community cancer support providers.
- Support cancer support services to become full partners in the patient pathway.
- Ensure people with cancer and their families can get the support they need, close to home.
Vision of The Alliance
An Ireland where anyone affected by cancer can access reliable support and rehabilitation. Trained professionals provide these services in communities around Ireland.

- Collaborative: We support partnerships to achieve The Alliance’s vision and goals.

Why Community Cancer Support Centres and Services should join The Alliance
Joining The Alliance allows organisations to:
- Contribute to the National Cancer Strategy and the common good
- Be part of a new and growing national movement
- Raise awareness of The Alliance's work
- Access NCCP training and development resources
- Network and collaborate with other Alliance members
- Gain recognition for best practices and quality service
Membership Categories
Associate Members: Organisations that provide cancer support and sign The Alliance Charter. Benefits include:
- Use of an Alliance logo for associate members.
- Inclusion in the NCCP Directory of Cancer Support.
- Access to advice and expertise.
- Free training and networking events.
- Opportunities to join collaborative projects and one-time grants for growth.
- Eligibility for a seat on The Alliance Steering Group.
- Voting rights for steering group membership.
Full Members: Organisations that meet Best Practice Guidelines through self-assessment and peer review. These organisations also sign The Alliance Charter. They receive all associate benefits, plus:
- A specific logo for full members.
- Opportunities to deliver NCCP-supported programs.
- Funding for core services.
- Exclusive training and introductions to key stakeholders in patient care.
Membership Requirements for Community-Led Cancer Support Centres
Organisations must:
- Read and follow the Best Practice Guidance.
- Have registered with the Charities Regulator Ireland and follow Charities Act rules.
- Keep all policies related to their services.
- Confirm that staff and volunteers have appropriate qualifications and training.
- Provide a monthly activity update to the NCCP.
- Attend at least two NCCP networking events yearly.
- Notify the NCCP of any major changes in the organisation.
