Notice re NCCP advice for Medical Professionals on the management of patients undergoing Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (chemotherapy) in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
As of 23/05/2023, the guidance document ‘NCCP advice for Medical Professionals on the management of patients undergoing Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (chemotherapy) in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic’ has been retired. Healthcare professionals in all settings are advised to follow the COVID-19 guidance available via the HPSC, HSE and Department of Health websites.
As per HSE AMRIC guidance for Acute Hospitals v2.18, date 30.03.2023, the requirement for universal use of facemasks by healthcare workers, patients and visitors in healthcare settings has been removed, outside of periods of high levels of community transmission of COVID-19.
Guidance should be interpreted and applied locally in a context-specific manner, guided by a risk assessment approach, to include consideration of the local epidemiological situation with regard to COVID-19. Guidance is not a substitute for clinical judgement. As such, application of the guidance, and associated infection prevention and control measures, may vary between healthcare settings.
