The National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP) hosted the National Urological Cancer Quality and Audit Forum on 8th November 2024.
Purpose
The purpose of the forum is to provide an annual multidisciplinary forum for quality and audit for Urological Cancer Services. It helps identify best practice models and ensure standardisation and service improvement nationally.
Speakers
The Forum was opened by Professor Risteárd Ó Laoide, National Director, National Cancer Control Programme, who highlighted that the Forum this year celebrates more than a decade of the National Network of Rapid Access Prostate Cancer Clinics (RAPC), and improvements in prostate cancer outcomes in Ireland.
Mr Paul Sweeney, National Clinical Lead for Urological Cancers and Consultant Urologist at and Mercy University Hospital Cork, speaking at the event, welcomed the opportunity for national multi-disciplinary urological cancer teams to work together to build on local clinical governance arrangements, and develop cohesive national clinical networks for the purpose of clinical audit, sharing of good practice and problem solving.
Speaking at the Forum, Ms Eileen Nolan, Programme Manager, NCCP noted the excellent attendance from teams across the urological cancer services and thanked everyone involved in the NCCP Urological Cancer Programme for their invaluable contribution.
