Guideline Development
The purpose of these National Clinical Guidelines is to provide evidence-based recommendations.
The National Clinical Guidelines were developed through the integration of the best research evidence with clinical expertise, patient values and experiences.
The guidelines were developed by two multi-disciplinary guideline development groups.
The Breast Cancer Guideline was chaired by:
- Professor Deirdre Duke, Consultant Radiologist, Beaumont Hospital
- Dr Eve O’Toole, Head of Evidence & Quality in the NCCP
The Rectal Cancer Guideline was chaired by:
- Professor Paul McCormick, Consultant Colorectal Surgeon, St James’ Hospital
- Dr Eve O’Toole, Head of Evidence & Quality in the NCCP
