The Integrated Alcohol Service for Dublin North City and County is a free service for people over the age of 18, living in Dublin North City or County and experiencing problem alcohol use or alcohol use disorder.
Services provided include:
- SAOR Extended Brief Intervention in primary care centres - for people drinking alcohol at risky or hazardous levels but not dependent. See information leaflet below.
- Medical support
- Care Planning & shared care
- Case Management
Make a referral
SAOR Extended Brief Intervention - self-refer by completing this form or calling 01 856 6406.
Integrated Alcohol Service - Healthcare professionals and support workers can refer their patients or service users by completing the referral form and emailing iasdublinreferrals@hse.ie.

In knowing whether or not a referral is appropriate, it is helpful to do the World Health Organisation’s (Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test) with your patient or service user, or using the online version on the HSE’s website.

- Scores of 14-19 warrant, with the person’s consent, a referral into SAOR EBI
- Scores of 20+ warrant, with the person’s consent, a referral into the Integrated Alcohol Service
Please note, service provision is delivered through a joint partnership between the HSE and funded community-based supports.
