Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a programme aimed at helping people with ongoing difficulties managing intense emotions. Part of the DBT treatment involves teaching people skills to deal with their intense emotions.
The DBT HSE app is an enhanced digital version of the paper tool known as ‘diary cards’ that DBT programme participants complete and show their therapist each week.
In order to enhance the treatment for clients this app allows clients who are attending DBT programmes within the HSE or HSE funded agencies to record their skill use and progress on treatment targets on a daily/weekly basis on their phone. This information will be relayed to their therapist confidentially.
The app is interactive and will prompt skill usage, providing videos and hints about which skills can be used appropriate to a situation.
