The MLU midwives hold antenatal clinics every morning from Monday to Friday. Each appointment is allocated half an hour and is arranged at a time to suit you. This helps to ensure minimal waiting times.
The MLU midwives also hold antenatal clinics in Monaghan Hospital where clients can attend if this is more convenient.
The antenatal clinics provide an opportunity for you to get to know the midwives who will look after you in labour.
Each antenatal visit consists of a blood pressure check, urine test, checking for growth of the baby and general wellbeing. It is also an opportunity for you to talk with your midwife about any concerns that you may be having.
The MLU midwives work in partnership with your GP to provide your antenatal care.
