Services for Adults
There are a number of dental practices in the area that provide treatment to private patients, insured patients and adult medical cardholders (via the Dental Treatment Services Scheme (DTSS)). To access this care please contact private dental practices directly for information and assistance.
There are difficulties accessing care on the DTSS currently and patients may have to travel to access a dentist. Patients require a full valid medical card for this Scheme and the dentist taking on the patient will perform validation checks. Further information is available on Dental Services and Treatment page.
Patients may also self-refer to the Dental Hospital. Further information can be obtained from Dublin Dental Hospital directly or locally from the Dental Department:
Old County Road,
Crumlin, Dublin 12,
D12 KT66

Services for Children
Urgent dental care (emergency care) is available for children under 16 years of age. This includes uncontrolled bleeding, severe pain, trauma, abnormal tissue, abscess and swelling. Unless in extreme clinical circumstances, all urgent care cases are by appointment only and there are no walk in services.
Please contact a HSE dental clinic if an urgent care appointment is required.
Due to variations in opening times and days in local clinics, you can also contact the Dental office on 01 7957390 for information.
The Dental Service in this area is experiencing significant delays and service disruption to all patients. This includes special care appointments, the school dental programme and orthodontic assessments or interventions. We are working hard to deal with the situation as best possible given the current environment and the reduced number of appointments available in the service. It is important that patients attend appointments as it may not be possible to reappoint appointments that are failed and or cancelled.
