National Addiction Training
The HSE National Social Inclusion Office works in partnership with other agencies to develop training, based on feedback from addiction services on need and in line with Reducing Harm Supporting Recovery.
Recent training includes;
- SAOR Screening and Brief Intervention for Problem Alcohol and Substance Use eLearning, training programme and virtual classroom training. Find out more about SAOR
- Hidden Harm eLearning. A one-day skills based training programme is completed and is currently being trialled. Find out more about the National Hidden Harm Project

The National Addiction Training Programme (NATP) was set up in 2007 to meet the training needs of staff in Drug and Alcohol services. The HSE National Social Inclusion Office is a member of the NATP. The NATP have most recently commissioned training on;
- SAOR Screening and Brief Intervention Train the Trainer Programme
- MAPA training (Managing Actual or Potential Aggression)
- Mindfulness for Professional and Personal Practice
- The Resonance Factor: Crack Cocaine Train the Trainer Programme
