The Healthy Eating Active Living Programme was created in 2016. It helps to carry out the National Obesity and Physical Activity policies.

Its goal is to help health services improve health and wellbeing.

This includes promoting:

  • physical activity
  • healthier eating
  • healthy weight

The focus is on supporting service users, staff, and the wider population, especially children and families.

The Healthy Eating Active Living Implementation Plan 2023-2027 aims to drive change and innovation in our health services.

It aims to help us deal with the causes of:

  • poor diet
  • lack of exercise
  • obesity

Programme Team

The Programme Team works with health services staff and external partners.

They help to:

  • prevent obesity and chronic diseases in the general population and in clinical practice
  • include physical activity and healthy eating as part of follow-up care for patients in clinical settings.
