Making Every Contact Count
Making Every Contact Count (MECC) is a programme aimed at preventing chronic disease.
The rise in the number of people suffering from long-term health conditions has added pressure to the healthcare system.
Healthcare professionals see many patients each year, giving them a chance to promote better health. MECC aims to use these regular visits to help people make healthier choices, leading to better health.

MECC framework
The MECC programme is guided by the MECC framework.
By adopting this framework, health professionals can help people who visit the health service daily make changes to lower their risk of chronic disease. This means all staff and leaders need to take responsibility for MECC, leading to better health for everyone.
