Skills for Facilitating SPHE
This is a 2 day training for post primary teachers.
This is addressed in an introduction to the updated Specification for the NCCA Short Course in Social, Personal and Health Education (SPHE) provided by the Oide (formerly CSL, JCT NIPT & PDST).
Objectives
Participants will:
- examine the most up-to-date HSE Resources (units of learning) to support teaching and learning in Junior cycle SPHE.
- learn how to create a safe classroom environment to facilitate respectful and participative learning
- engage with a range of teaching and learning methods that support effective SPHE
- support students to develop behaviours, attitudes and values that support wellbeing
This training does not focus on time allocation or planning and assessment of SPHE.
