Skills for Facilitating SPHE - 2 Day Training - Post Primary
The aim of this training is to support post primary teachers to develop the skills, competencies and attitudes for effective teaching and learning in Junior Cycle SPHE.
Please note that this training does not focus on time allocation to SPHE or planning and assessment of SPHE within the new 2023 SPHE specification. This is addressed in 'An Introduction to the updated Specification for the NCCA Short Course in SPHE (2023)' provided by the Oide (formerly CSL, JCT NIPT & PDST)

Aims of the training
Participants will:
- examine the most up-to-date HSE Resources (Units of Learning) to support teaching and learning in Junior cycle SPHE.
- learn how to create a safe classroom environment to facilitate respectful and participative learning in SPHE.
- engage with a range of teaching and learning methodologies that support effective SPHE.
- develop the skills needed to support students to develop behaviours, attitudes and values that support wellbeing.
In-person training is approved for sub cover by the Department of Education.
