The HSE have published and implemented several national and local Healthy Ireland implementation plans.

Health Services Healthy Ireland Implementation Plan 2023-2027

The Health Services Healthy Ireland Implementation Plan 2023-2027 focuses on:

  • supporting people to adopt healthy behaviours and prevent chronic diseases
  • supporting people to self-manage and live well with their chronic health condition
  • creating healthy environments for people

Strategic Priorities:

  • embedding health and wellbeing in health service delivery
  • strengthening partnership and community working
  • supporting healthy behaviours from childhood through to healthy ageing
  • supporting staff personal health and wellbeing

HSE Healthy Ireland implementation plans

As part of the HSE's Healthy Ireland implementation plans, every Community Health Organisation (CHO) and hospital group had to create their own Healthy Ireland implementation plan. These plans had to identify clear ways to improve the health and wellbeing of the people in their area

Each HSE region received a set of specific actions from a national level to help create their plans.
