The HSE Press and Media Team primarily focuses on news events happening daily in the health services and provides trusted and accurate information to media.
Through media engagement and proactive campaigns we:
- highlight services available to the public
- share important public health messages
- respond to media queries
- share the inspiring work carried out by staff across the country every day.

Contact Us
The Press and Media Team deals with queries from the media about the national health services. As we continue to work from home, media may contact us by email at press@hse.ie in the first instance during working hours. You can also call our out of hours phone number 087 227 4605 which diverts to a press officer during week day working hours.
- Routine inquiries will be answered during normal working hours, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.
- Routine queries received out of hours will be actioned on the next working day.
- press@hse.ie email address is not routinely monitored outside these working hours.
- Non urgent queries or queries that require data gathering from across the health system cannot be facilitated outside of normal working hours or at weekends.
- Please provide your contact phone number and email address in all correspondence.
Out of Hours Media Service
- For urgent out-of-hours media queries relating to serious incidents or major emergencies, please phone 087 227 4605.
- Please do not text the out-of-hours phone number as it is a call forwarding service.
- press@hse.ie is not routinely monitored out of hours.
