To ask the Minister for Health if his Department will sanction the provision of a neuro-rehabilitation team for CH07 for persons affected by neurological injury or disease, given that only two of the nine teams promised have been delivered (
there are currently only 15% of affected patients who have access to such local teams, despite the proven preventative qualities of same, thereby maintaining wellness, improving quality of life with attendant good impacts on A&Es, admissions and hospital stays, saving an estimated 42,000 bed days each year; and also the value-for-money offered, in that each euro spent on such teams is estimated to save the health service 11 euro); and if he will make a statement on the matter.
