Motivational interviewing

Motivational interviewing refers to any conversation about changing healthcare behaviour. It aims to explore and resolve ambivalence, provide a direction for change & strengthen a person’s personal motivation. The communication skills for building rapport, demonstrating empathy, gathering and giving information were covered in Module 1 (Making Connections) and Module 2 (Core Consultation Skills).  During this module we are consolidating that learning with more in-depth teaching and practice sessions on the communication principles and skills for motivational interviewing.
