Increased Access for GPs to GMS Contracts

The Health (Provision of General Practitioner Services) Act 2012 has recently been published (March 2012) and has removed restrictions that previously applied to qualified General Practitioners accessing General Medical Services Scheme Contracts.

The HSE can now enter into a contract for the provision of services to Medical Card or GP Visit Card patients with any suitably qualified General Practitioner.
