Updated Publication: Quality and Safety Committees Guidance and Resources
Quality and Safety Committees perform an essential role in our health services by providing a forum to consider and monitor and improve the quality and safety of care provided.
The issuing of this updated publication follows a comprehensive consultation process with various stakeholders and we appreciate the time that quality and safety staff have given to provide feedback on the publication. The original publication which was issued in 2013 has been significantly updated to reflect the health services reform programme and includes additional resources and templates which can be adapted in the establishment or review of Quality and Safety Committees.
The document is written in a general way to be applicable in the many HSE services across hospital groups, community health organisations and the national ambulance service for all levels of quality and safety committees to include:
- Local Quality and Safety Committee
- Executive Quality and Safety Committees
- Board Quality and Safety Committees
